The first trailer for Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy has been released online. The fourth in the series of hit comedies films featuring Renée Zellweger sees Jones alone again, after husband Mark’s death, and having to raise two small children on her own.

Directed by Michael Morris and written by Helen Fielding, Dan Mazer and Abi Morgan, Mad About the Boy sees a return for Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson, along with a first appearance for One Day’s Leo Woodall as Bridget’s new love interest.

A neonatal expert who reviewed the deaths and collapses of babies harmed by Lucy Letby has said she feels misled over her commissioning by hospital bosses.

Dr Jane Hawdon, a consultant neonatologist, said she was not “adequately briefed” about the suspicions of senior doctors about Letby before she carried out her analysis.

The message was clear, and has been since full-time against Scotland: the Springboks are fresh. And they evidently want everyone to know it.

Equally, you suspect they are not very happy about having a six-day turnaround before facing England. New Zealand made light work of theirs last week but as the all-conquering back-to-back world champions, perhaps it is necessary to engineer perceived slights against yourselves.

Greenpeace and Uplift say Rosebank and Jackdaw licences were granted unlawfully by former Tory government

Climate campaigners have urged a Scottish court to cancel the licence to drill the UK’s largest untapped oilfield, arguing it will cause “sizeable” and unjustified damage to the planet.

Greenpeace and Uplift accuse the former Conservative government of having unlawfully given the Norwegian oil giant Equinor a licence to exploit the Rosebank oilfield, which sits 80 miles (130km) north-west of Shetland and holds nearly 500m barrels of oil and gas.
